“A Thoughtfully Reconfigured
Contemporary Conversion”
Positioned on the second floor of a quintessential Victorian conversion in West London, this once dated apartment has been meticulously reimagined as a refined and versatile city residence. What was formerly a modest one-bedroom, one-bathroom layout has been transformed into an elegant two-bedroom, two-bathroom home defined by intelligent planning and elevated design.
The reconfiguration centred on the creation of a generous open-plan reception, kitchen, and dining space – a seamless environment designed for both entertaining and everyday living. A bespoke integrated kitchen forms the architectural focal point, complete with sculpted stone worktops and splashback, and a full suite of Siemens appliances. Custom cabinetry with discreet LED illumination enhances depth and ambience, while curated decorative lighting, tailored soft furnishings, and hand-selected European furniture lend a sophisticated, layered finish.
A striking timber staircase, featuring handcrafted oak and metal balustrade, connects the principal living spaces. Each double bedroom has been conceived as a private retreat, appointed with bespoke wardrobes, wall-mounted bedside lighting, classic column radiators, and plush carpeting underfoot.
The bathrooms reflect a considered balance of classic and contemporary detailing. Italian tiling introduces texture and character, contrasted by matte black taps and valves, white resin basins, and bespoke mirrored cabinetry – creating spaces that feel both sculptural and serene.
Above, a newly introduced roof terrace elevates the residence further. Finished with grey composite decking and complementary trellising woven with live jasmine, this private outdoor sanctuary offers a rare oasis within the urban fabric – an intimate extension of the interior living space.
This project stands as a testament to thoughtful architectural intervention – a contemporary masterpiece respectfully set within the enduring character of a traditional West London façade.
